TECHNICAL ASPECTS

We design to deliver the safest Particulate filter Mask currently available In India, to ensure the safety of our client’s, KAVACH MASK’S have undergone extensive testing in various biological parameters in standardized research laboratories throughout India.

Kavach was tested to see its efficacy using various bacterial and fungal particles. The Kavach Mask have been fabricated to a pore size of 0.3 microns, a standardized size with all N95 Mask currently available.

BACTERIAL EFFICACY

Bacterial Efficacy was studies using the Staphylococcal Aureus Bacteria and the Klebsiella Pneumonia Bacteria. Both Bacteria are known to be highly pathogenic respiratory bacteria, and have been implicated to cause Pneumonia in health human subjects.

The Staphylococcal Aureus and Klebsiella Pneumonia have a size of about 1 micron and the 0.8 -0.5 microns respectively.

A series of test were carried out using both the bacteria, once grown on a culture media

The mask was placed 15cm away from a blower in an aerosol chamber, each blowing a set of the aerosolized bacteria directly towards the mask.

Air Blower with 100% bacterial colonies 15cm Mask  Post Mask Filter media with Culture Medium <1% bacteria growth after incubation.

There was <1% bacterial colony grown after multiple repeated cultures of the filter material. Suggesting a 99% reduction in the bacterial particle’s penetration through the Kavach Mask filters. This was repeated multiple times in various controlled environment and similar results with the same efficiency were obtained, needless to say the mask showed a 99% reduction in bacterial penetration.

FUNGAL EFFICACY

Fungal Testing was carried out with the spores of Aspergillus Fungi, another highly pathogenic Fungi known to cause Fungal Pneumonia in Immuno compromised hosts, the spores size range between 2-10 microns.

The same test was repeated as above using the fungal spores, the post mask filter media was then incubated in a fungal Culture medium, once again the mask showed a 99% Reduction in fungal spores.

VIRAL EFFICACY.

Kavach Masks have not been tested for viral protection, in lieu of the current COVID 19 Epidemic.

The Corona Virus has an estimated particulate size of 0.1 Microns in Size, Kavach Masks have not been subjected to such micron size. However the current published literate review, show that the Virus attaches to water droplets or Aerosols (i.e. really small droplets) that are generated by breathing, talking, coughing etc, These consist of water, mucus proteins and other biological material that are all larger than 1 micron in size, therefore the respiratory filters of the kavach mask (0.3microns) will efficiently reduce penetration by 99% of the COVID 19 virus if  exposed to a breathing or talking generated particle of the COVID 19 Virus provided they are attached to the water droplets or aerosol.

All the above test was carried out in a CONTROLLED ENVIROMENTS USING ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS. The MASK MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF NIOSH FILTER EFFICIENCY STANDARDS. THE CORRECT USAGE OF THE MASK IS NECESSARY FOR ADEQUATE PROTECTION AS DESCRIBED ABOVE.
