The Kavach Pro Mask comes in two variants:

• The Kavach Pro Anti – Pollution Mask: To give you that fresh breath of air during your daily commute. It is specially stitched consisting of the following 5 Protective Layers:
  1. Outer layer – Organic Cotton / Microfiber Fabric
  2. Microfiber Particle Filter – N 99 Compliance Melt Blown
  3. Activated Charcoal Filter – Coconut Shell Derived Carbon Ash Bonded to Textile
  4. Microfiber Particle Filter – N 99 Compliance Melt Blown
  5. Inner Layer – Polyester Dry Fit Material
• The Kavach Pro Anti – Viral Mask: Looking at the current Pandemic Situation we have developed a special range of Pro Anti – Viral masks to keep the air you breathe safe from viruses as well. These masks consist of 4 layers:
  1. Outer Layer – 100% Cotton
  2. Non – Woven Fabric
  3. Microfiber Particle Filter – N 99 Compliance Melt Blown
  4. Inner Layer – Polyester Dry Fit Material

The filters being sewn right in the middle of the masks are non-replaceable.

Other Features of Kavach Pro Masks:

1. Elastic Ear Loop with Silicon Adjusters for that perfect fit and comfort.
2. Aluminium Nose Band Sewn in the Mask for a snug fit.
3. Only Pro Anti – Pollution Mask has ABD Resin Exhale Valve Base & Cover with a Silicon Stopper. This Valve facilitates the exit of moisture and CO2 from the inside of the mask, assuring easier breathing during exhaustive outdoor activities.

The Kavach Basic Mask is your pocket friendly & re – usable variant. These are cloth masks with an Add – on PM 2.5 Filter. These masks are easily washable and the PM 2.5 Filters have a life – span of 100 hours each. It can be used as a simple on – the – go mask as well as an anti – pollution mask.

In this the filter material is not sewn into the mask. Filters are given separately.

Yes! If you have a work profile where majority of the time you are exposed to open atmosphere, it is necessary that you protect your breathing with a mask. This ensures that there is no dust or microbes entering your nasal tract and lungs. Also suggested would be Kavach Masks with Exhale Valves to keep the excessive moisture and CO2 in exhaustive conditions in check.

Urban environments have a high level of air pollution consisting of various Fine Particulate Matter. Particulate matter (PM) is classified based on the diameter of particle. Inhalable – particles are usually of 100 microns diameter or less in size. Thoracic – particlesof 10 microns diameter or less reach the lungs,these are referred to as PM10. Respirable – particles of 2.5 microns penetrate into the gas exchange region of the lungs and are referred to as PM2.5 and are considered pretty hazardous. Kavach masks offers protection till particles as micro as 0.3 microns. So yes, wearing a mask in Urban living conditions makes a lot of sense.

Normally people replace their mask each year; in environments of high particulate matter such as poor air quality conditions, it is recommended the mask be replaced every 5-6 months, or when a noticeable increase in breathing resistance occurs.

• 1. The masks can be maintained by hand wash and hang dry. Hand wash by rinsing outer and inner layer with water.  Add a drop of liquid soap and gently rub around inner and outer layer.  Rinse again and hang to fully dry before storage in a cool, dry place.  Wash the mask only when you wish to clean the outer and inner layer. Washing the mask does not clear the filter media of microscopic particles.   
  2. You may use Alcohol wipes >61% or alcohol spray without affecting filtering efficiency
  3. Expose to sunlight. No UV light or microwave because we have not tested effect on filter media.No frequent washing is required.
  4. Over washing eventually may affect integrity of filter media sewn into middle layers of the mask. You need not wash the mask frequently.
  5. Viral Mask Users: You have to wash your hands with soap/sanitizer before and after you touch your mask. Only touch the mask from the ear loops to wear and remove it. Avoid touching the outer or inner face of the mask as it may be contaminated. In case you do come in contact with these surfaces, please wash your hands with soap, or use hand sanitizer immediately.
  6. Disinfecting Mask – Sunning the mask in the day or airing it in a fanned room so that all the moisture on the mask is dry will kill any virus.
  7. Please Note: Keep in mind that washing a mask does not sterilize it. The masks are washable, but cleaning them only cleans the external surfaces, not pollution trapped inside the filter. The mask needs to be replaced after extended use to ensure proper filtration.
  8. Kavach BASIC Mask is washable and reusable which make economical and pocket friendly. Replaceable filters have a lifespan of 100 USE hours after which you may replace the filter with the extra filters that are provided and continue to use the mask.
